Hello crotchgear fans,
On October 19th, 2012, crotchgear held its first vendor fair in company history in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event was the NoDa All Arts Market, a once-every-two-month fair where local businesses and artists display their work for sale. The event lasted from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Half of the founding team was present at the event and was able to explain our product, show the merch, and answer any questions on the spot.
The reception for the product was generally very positive. Reactions ranged from "this is the coolest thing I've ever seen", to "hahahaha", to "OH MY GOSH!!!". Even folks older than 60 years old saw the value in us, and at the very least, thought that crotchgear was "cute" and very well made (not the team, the sweats. Well, maybe us too. :P). Many favored 'Pesky Squirrel', 'Got Bush', 'Morning Wood', and 'Rock My Mic'. Pairs of our sweats were purchased on site and plenty of people entered our FREE raffle for a pair of FREE sweats. We have yet to determine a winner, but as soon as we do, you will know about it.
The experience was a good one and a positive move for crotchgear. This event marks the beginning of an initiative to strengthen relations in our home base of North Carolina. While we will always continue to grow crotchgear on an internet/mass media level, we are also trying to promote things grassroots style on a local level and eventually branch out into more markets as things take off. To learn more about what we are doing to grow the best "humor below the belt" out there, stay tuned to the CrotchBlog™.
